Pictures of Wanchai

Small hotels line the streets in Wanchai.  Although not famous names they can offer low prices for short stays.  Some hotels charge an hourly rate as in the example above for those spending less than a whole day.

Historic buildings are mixed between modern high rises in Wanchai. Here a traditional corner shop building from the 1940's is maintained in almost original condition.

Market shopping streets in Wanchai and nearby Causeway Bay are where locals buy their daily needs.
Major hotels in the area include the METRO Park Hotel which is a modern 4 star business hotel.

Buildings on the Wanchai waterfront overlook the famed Victoria Harbour, which is crossed by the iconic Star ferry. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of the worlds' major event facilities and regularly holds world-class exhibitions and trade conventions. Situated overlooking the harbour it was the site of the handover ceremony in 1997 when Hong Kong became a Special Administration Region or "SAR" of China.
Wanchai is served by excellent public transport including the renowned Mass Transit Railway or "MTR".  Look out for this sign on the walls of MTR platforms to know you have arrived in Wanchai. Blessed with blue skyes and clear weather for the majority of the year Wanchai attracts visitors and tourists from all over the world. Small and large shopping arcades and malls are situated in the district selling everything from high end fashion, to funky boutiques, to discount electronics and computer accessories.
